Terra Isle · Photography Studio

Unhurried pictures of people, made in whatever light the day gives us.

I photograph portraits, weddings and small brand stories on the coast and anywhere the ferry reaches. Long sessions, little direction, and a gallery you will actually look at again.

  • Natural light only
  • Film & digital
  • Island & mainland

The approach

Less posing. More of the hour you were actually in.

My favourite frames are rarely the ones anyone planned. They happen in the gap after a pose, when a shoulder drops and a conversation starts again.

So sessions here are slow on purpose. We walk, we talk about nothing in particular, and I keep the camera close rather than pointed. If you need a hand with where to stand, you will get one — but you will never be arranged into something that is not yours.

Everything is shot in daylight, often on a mix of film and digital, and edited with a light touch: warm, true to skin, nothing pushed. Galleries arrive as high-resolution files you own and can print at any size, with no watermarks and no upsell.

Sessions

Three ways to work together

Every booking is quoted after we talk, because travel, hours and how many files you need all change the shape of it. Pick the closest fit and say so in your enquiry.

01

Portraits

Individuals & families

A two-hour walk-and-shoot for one person or a small group. Good for a season you want to remember, or a headshot that does not look like a headshot.

  • Two hours, one location
  • Around forty edited files
  • Private online gallery
  • Print-ready at any size

02

Weddings & elopements

Small to mid-size days

Full-day or half-day coverage, documentary in style. I keep to the edges of the room, work without flash, and stay out of the way of the day you planned.

  • Six to ten hours of coverage
  • Planning call before the date
  • Four to six hundred edited files
  • Second photographer on request

03

Brand & editorial

Makers & small studios

Half-day shoots for people who make things — a workshop, a kitchen, a shop floor. Built around a short shot list so you leave with images you can actually use.

  • Half-day on site
  • Portraits, process and product
  • Web and print crops supplied
  • Commercial usage included

Selected work

A small sample, chosen for how it felt

Six frames from recent sessions. The full portfolio for your session type goes out with the first reply to an enquiry.

How it works

From first message to finished gallery

No portals, no packages to decode. Four steps, and you hear from a person at each one.

01

You write in

Tell me the session type, roughly when, and roughly where. A sentence is plenty to start with.

02

We talk it through

I reply with availability, a full portfolio for your session type and a quote with the hours written out.

03

The shoot

We meet at the agreed light. I bring everything; you bring whatever you want to be photographed in.

04

Your gallery

Edited files land in a private gallery you can download, share and print from, kept online for a year.

Questions

The things people ask first

How long until we see the photographs?

Portraits and brand shoots are delivered within two weeks. Weddings take longer — usually four to six weeks — but a small preview set goes out in the first few days so you have something to share straight away.

Do you travel for a session?

Yes, gladly. Anywhere on the island is included. For mainland and overseas work I add travel at cost and will always show you that figure as a separate line in the quote rather than folding it into a package price.

What can we do with the files?

Print them, frame them, send them to relatives, put them anywhere you like. Personal sessions include full personal-use rights; brand and editorial bookings include commercial use for your own marketing. The only thing I ask is that the edit is left as delivered.

What happens if the weather turns, or plans change?

Rain is often the better picture, so we usually shoot anyway. If conditions are genuinely unworkable or something comes up, we move the date once at no cost — just let me know as early as you can.

Enquire

Tell me about the session

Dates book up first in late spring and early autumn. If yours is close, say so and I will tell you honestly whether it still works.

  • A written reply, usually within two working days
  • Availability for your date, with no hold required
  • A full portfolio for your session type
  • A quote with the hours and travel itemised

Your details are used only to answer this enquiry. Nothing is added to a mailing list.
